The wedding was taken half years ago but it seems like not long ago and thanks for the groomsman and the groom for being so creative! {Sneak Preview}Snow Engagement Photo Session with Allison + Phillip

As Lower Mainland Vancouver and Fraser Valley are hit by the cold winter storm this week but it did not stop my fun and energy couples for their first part of the Snow Engagement photo shoot in Campbell Regional Park at Langley. It is my first time there and it does feel like Sproat Lake Park on Vancouver Island where I grow up Port Alberni to be exact and funny thing is Allison was raised in Port Alberni. Allison and Her family were invited to a special 1700′s Century Wedding back in 2010 on Halloween Night at Richmond River Rock Casino. Kyle and Jenny’s Fashion and Fun Wedding. When in time for her wedding she has contacted me and indeed it is a small world. In lower mainland we have a lot of great photographers and also nice to see there area a handful of wedding photographer like myself from Vancouver Island. Below is a quick photos I have shoot when I did not expect a dressed wedding guest and fired off a quick photography and it turned out to be Allison’s family! It was one of my favorite photo from the wedding.

Modern Wedding Portrait by Waynes World Studio Media Production

There are a lot of great artist from lower mainland of Vancouver, some of them have been in the wedding industry for many years and there are reason why they are so great! Great work get notice but the new era of Marketing and loyal clients are important! How do new photographer moves up the ladder? I have been photographer for over six years and every time I shoot I try to shoot something that is unique for my client. It is a challenge that is different and I often praise by new clients who had seem my work and wanting their own style I can create for them.

How to become a Great Wedding Portrait Photographer in Vancouver?

Like Henri Cartier-Bresson great Photojournalism for his line, composition and timing. He called “The Decisive Moment, here is Henri Cartier-Bresson The Decisive Moment. Cartier Bresson has the great skill of taking photography but he also relied on his good friend to reproduce the print in the darkroom for his personal vision of his photography. As for the new Era of digital age, great photos are also needed to reproduce in Photoshop History It is great I have watched Photoshop grow from the late 1990′s from Photoshop 4.0 to now CS5.5 the basic tools still there like anything in life. Any Professional Portrait Photoshop user will tell you the most use tools are Dodging and Burning. This tools have been in the darkroom many years and still a very important tools for Professional use. Well what I mean is, a Great photographer will need the great eyes like Cartier-Bresson, a knowledge of reproduction, have technique skills and also being creative.

Two to Three hours of Photoshop on each Photo and sometime longer!

Like any painter I look at my work and trying to add on my vision even though Photoshop is suppose to make work faster and easier but again great work does take time! There are a lot of Photoshop plugin does enhance the photograph but trouble is each photo looks the same as other photographer using the same filter or plugin, that is why most audience will have a hard time remember who is the photographer since everyone’s work looking the same! So true! Google search Vancouver Wedding Photographer I create my work with a vision in mind and yes I do draw out a storyboard how I can add lights to enhance the look. Without a plan it is useless to shoot especially if you are on a tight schedule. Believe me 15 minutes for a wedding client who is ran out of time before reception, you better have a plan how to shoot and make this portrait session work because they won’t have another portrait with you with the tight schedule. I was not nervous since I did my homework so no problem. Anyhow, you will see photographers work look the same by the time you see the six and seven photographers of Metro Vancouver. It is the skills most new photographers lack since they base on the work on plugin and filters. I use filters for my work but the hours with Photoshop is long as I want to create difference in each photos. Well I’m working toward all these skills and here is some of my work, enjoy! A Comment is always a welcome note!
